About me

"Creativity is experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making    mistakes and having fun."    (Mary Lou Cook)

I was born in 1993 and I am currently living in Cologne.

I have always been riding horses eversince I can remember. Rather ´normal´ in the beginning with lessons in dressage and showjumping and with competitions, I soon started to look for something else that would grant the horse more freedom and fun and also base more on a real partnership with the animal.

That is why I changed to the western riding (or old californian Vaquero Horsemanship) in the first place, by which I still like the idea of lightness and working together with the horse.

However, in my opinion this style of riding does not go far enough when it comes to the gymnastic exercises and collection.

By the desire to learn more about this and thanks to my interest for history, I soon turned towards the Classical Art of Riding and here I found all means to help even the horses with physical defects or injuries.

I worked myself through all works of the old and new riding masters, watched every reachable educational film, watched good horseman with their horses - and tested everything with our own horses. Some of the things worked well, others less - but that is how I was able to develop my own style.

The results, especially with old horses or such with problems, were amazing and have completely convinced me of the use of the Classical Art of Riding.

Finally I want to say that it is my conviction to regard the riding as a service to the horse and as an art, not as a sport or competition. For every horse is unique and we should strive for educating it according to its possibilities, with the only aim to make it as sound  and prideful as it can be.

"Art is longing. You never arrive, but you keep going in the hope that you will." (Anselm Kiefer)

After my A-levels I spent 1 1/2 years at the "Trainingsstall Leckebusch" (western riding).

Here I learnt a lot about how to work with young horses and how to give riding lessons.

Furthermore I had the opportunity to work with trainers like Alfonso Aguilar (Texas) and Amanda Barton (GB).

In the meantime I had the chance to spent 3 months is the US with Jeff Sanders (Modern Vaquero Horseman-

ship), where I learnt a lot about western dressage and working cattle.

In January 2015 I went to Anja Beran for 1 1/2 year to study the Classical Art of Riding as a student of her foundation.

Here I was able to learn from highly educated horses and feel airs of the high school, such as piaffe, passage, pirouettes, á-tempi lead changes, spanish walk and - trot.

In addition I learned how to develop these airs with younger horses, to work with horses for correction and to start young horses, always in accordance with the teachings of the Classical Art of <Riding and in the sense of the horse.

During that time I was allowed to present different horses at public events, such as morning exercises, clinics, as well as at the symposium in the Circus Krone in Munich.

Another instructor who influenced me is Bent Branderup (founder of the Academic Art of Riding).

I was able to spend 3 months at his stables in Denmark as a student, to find out more about his way of work and I find especially the work in hand really enriching.

Besides I visited clinics with Arien Aguilar and Manolo Oliva and watched the training at the riding schools in Vienna, Jerez and Bückeburg.
